Coupons and Blog Candy...What More Could A Girl Want?

Hi blog friends!  As promised, I went to check out this week's sales yesterday at Joann's  I didn't find anything too exciting.  There were a lot of people out in the blogosphere talking abut great clearance sales.  Lucky you!!  I couldn't find ANYTHING on clearance at my local Joann's. (*insert sad face here!*)

So this week, Joann's has the majority of their scrapbooking supplies on sale for 40% off.  If you combine that with the Michael's coupon that's valid this week, you should be able to get a good deal on some supplies.  A few things I found:

DCWV paper stacks are on sale for $9.99.  Combine that with the Michael's coupon and you can pick them up for $7.99 each.  That's usually my buy price!

50 count packages of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock are on sale for $2.49 (regularly $3.99.)  Combined with the Michael's coupon, you can get them for $1.99 each.  I've seen them cheaper, but this is a great price if you're running low.

I noticed  all of the Cricut supplies are 25% off.  This might be tricky with the coupon...here's why.  When Joann's has their own coupons out, their "fine print" states that the coupon can't be used for Cricut ELECTRONIC items or cartridges.  So you can still use the coupon for Cricut SUPPLIES, like mats and blades and tools.  The Michael's coupon specifically says that the coupon isn't good on "all Cricut products."  So Joann's may or may not honor your Michael's coupon for Cricut supplies.  If not, it's no biggie though.  You can do just as well (if not better) waiting for the Cricut supplies to go OFF sale, and then use one of Joann's 40% or 50% off coupons.  Most Joann's stores will even let you use multiple coupons for multiple items...they just have to ring each item and coupon up separately.  (In my experience, Michael's is WAY more strict about multiple coupons and normally won't let you use more than one.)

Okay...enough confusing stuff!!
If you've made it through all that and are still reading (whew!) don't forget about the Old School Blog Hop in a few days!  It's August 5th and 6th.  It's my first blog hop to participate in and I'm so excited!!  I picked one of my favorite old cartridges to do my project with!  Oh, and I do believe I'm going to be giving away my first ever blog candy!  Woohoo!!  So don't forget to check back this weekend!!

Hi Amy! Thanks for stopping by. That paper was on clearance BUT the coupon still worked. Yeah! I am heading out school shopping with the kids today and there is a different Michaels and Joanns, so I am going to look for a few more deals. :)

Hey Amy,

YEs, I do LOVE to use coupons on everything. WOuld love to be an extreme couponer, but it would hinder my crafting!! LOL jk..I do scrounge and collect coupons from my non coupon friends. I also have a binder I keep them organized in and I use coupons for whatever I can! I am always looking for deals and the cheaper the price the better! I like meeting new friends who coupon to learn more from them, and to get heads up on any great deals. DO you coupon for everything or just crafts? I must say this, I don't buy things just to use a coupon and I get a LOT of stuff I don't have coupons for. Unfortunately some things don't have coupons! :/

hugs,
Michelle

Um...YEAH!! I would love to pick your brain for the best of using coupons!! I have saved a TON of money couponing, but I would like to save even more. What exactly is groupon? I have heard of this before. It just seems that the things I need are cheaper as a store brand. And as far as I can tell they dont have coupons for store brands. Secondly, I travel to shop. By that I mean I drive 30 minutes to my grocery store for their double coupons (and I absolutely LOVE their super doubles and triple coupon days!), I also go to Wal Greens and CVS for deals!! I love their cash back and rewards! :) I go to a couple of grocery stores here and I have found two more than i can go to as well. Any info would be helpful. I have been doing this for about a year, so still a newbie!! ;) I would absolutely LOVE the idea of walking out of a grocery store with little to NO money to pay for my groceries! So spill it...what are the secrets to the trade? YOu live on the west coast, so perhaps it might be a little different with stores. But I will take any advice or tricks or secrets or anything you have to offer!! :)
