Welcome to the Old School Cartridge Blog Hop!

Happy Blog Hop Day!!!!!!!  If you've come from visiting Lindsey at cricutcrazy94, you're in the right place! If you just came to hang out with me for a while, and would like to play along with our fun hop, you can go to Inking It Up Crazy and start at the beginning. We're here to share a few projects and ideas with you using the older Cricut cartridges. So get ready for some super fun projects and some sweet giveaways along the way! After you have finished the hop, be sure to head on back to Inking It Up Crazy so you can create and link up a project of your own using one of your older cartridges. The older the better!!!

Make sure to check out each member's blog. There will be some AWESOME ideas...and maybe a little blog candy!!!!

So, here's the dealio...the cartridge I chose to work with is one of my favs...Walk In My Garden.  Here's the problem though.  I started out planning to make a card, then as I looked at all the cute things I wanted to cut and use, I decided it better become a layout instead.  Fine and dandy right?  NOT.  I finally had so much on the page, that there was no room left for pictures!  So without further adieu, I present to you my 12 x 12 photo-less wall art!!

All my little critters decided to have a party and hang out in the garden near the gazebo!  I hear there's margaritas in the little dandelion cups, but shhh...don't tell anyone!

I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder for the wheelbarrow and the Divine Swirls folder for the grassy hills in the background.

I used a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen for my stitches and dots.

I inked most everything with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye...

except the clouds...they were inked with a Memories ink pad in blue.  The background cardstock is from the DCWV Glitter Stack.

Most of the other card stock was from the Paper Company.  There were a few bits and pieces from my stash...they were from various different DCWV cardstock stacks.

I REALLY wanted a Gazebo, but there's not one on the Walk in my Garden cartridge, so I decided to free hand one on lavender cardstock with Liquid Pearls.  I used a little swirling motion as I was drawing to give it some depth.  It's probably not ready to be shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but I'm happy with it for a first attempt!  I cheated a little and used the George and Basic Shapes cartridge for my title.  Don't's an old school cartridge too!

Now, if you're still with me, here's what you've been reading waiting for...the sweet stuff!

This is my first ever blog candy!  Please leave a comment with a way to get in touch with you.  I will draw the name of one of my lucky followers on Wednesday using the infamous and ever scientific hubby-draws-a-name-out-of-the-baseball-cap method.

The next stop on your hopping journey is Susan's blog.  I guarantee you won't be disappointed!!

Oops! Major typos on the last comment (I need to proof-read better!) Anywho....
Fantastic project! I love all the details! I did this once too- started off with card, changed to a LO, ran out of room for photos, HaHa! That is still one of my favorite projects ever!

Wonderful wall art. It is too cute to have it stuck in a book anyhow, it should be displayed on the wall so everyone can see it.

New follower here. Are you sure we are not twins? I get so carried away at times that I do the same thing. Easy solution though. Use a coupon for Michaels or AC Moore and by a 12 x 12 frame. :) Hang it on your wall as it is your work of art. TFS it :)

Happy Scrappin'
