Happy 2012!!!

Okay, spill it...who's feeling like this little guy this morning?!?!  Sorry...he's just my favorite little new year's guy...complete with his birdie slippers!!

I'll skip the flowery mushy stuff (although it's all very sweet) and just say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  I wish you all a year of crafting, prosperity, and very few hangovers!

Love, Amy E.

Oh, PS...we'll return to our regularly scheduled program (of calendar stuff) tomorrow!!!  Now, go back to bed!

...And More Calendar (Part 3)

Hi again!  Here we go...

Both pages are pretty similar for May.  Son's and Daughter-In-Law's page is above and Daughter's is below.

I felt pretty proud of myself for thinking up the Earth Day theme for the May pages...well, that is, until I was putting the finishing touches on the calendars by adding the holidays, and I noticed that Earth Day was in April for 2012.  WHAT?!?!?!  I thought Earth Day was ALWAYS in May???  I guess not.  Oh well, I was committed to the May pages at that point!  The adorable smiling earth cut is from Phrases.

Son's and DIL's June page (above) is very similar to Daughter's page (below) with a few color and size variations.

The exposure on these photos wasn't all that great.  I really wish they had turned out better because the Gnomes were so adorable!  And I loved the the title...Just hanging With My Gnomies!  Haha!  The gnomes and mushrooms were cut using the Freshly Picked cartridge and the butterflies were cut from the Wall Decor and More cartridge.
See ya back for more tomorrow.  Same Bat time...same Bat channel!

More Calendar (Part 2)

Back for more?  SWEET!!  I told you guys I would be posting like crazy after Christmas presents were handed out!  Three days in a row now...WOW!  So hold on we go!

Son and Daughter-In-Law's March page had to include beer since they are both connoisseurs.   I really wish I had been able to find a beer mug and put green beer in it, but I couldn't find a cut I liked on the cartridges I have.  The beer can was cut from the Father's Day cartridge (it's a single can that I cut six times and glued together to make a six-pack) and the title is from Phrases  (love that cartridge!)

Daughter's March page is a little more traditional with a glittery pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  The rainbow was from the Groovy Times cartridge and the pot of gold was from Paper Doll Dress up.

Both of the April pages look like the Easter Bunny threw up all over them (...okay, that may have been a LITTLE graphic!) ...lots of pastels!

More birds for DIL!  The title is from Phrases and the border at the top is from Straight From the Nest.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the photo mats.

Daughter's April page got the Easter Bunny treatment complete with decorated eggs at the top!  The photo mats were also cut with MS punches

BTW, the week before Christmas, I was at TJ Maxx, and they had several different kinds of Martha Stewart punches.  Their Punch-Around-the-Page sets were priced at $4.99!!!!!!  That's a far cry from the $30 plus that Joann's and Michael's usually has them priced at!  Who knows if there's anything left since the after Christmas rush, but it might be worth a peek if you have a TJ's nearby!
Until tomorrow...

Okay, Calendar Time!

Here's the first pics in the series of posts about the calendars I made for my kids (and I use the word "kids" lightly...they're grown!)  Basically, I made 12 scrapbook pages, one for each month, and then 12 "month" pages, complete with cutouts from the Designer's Calendar cartridge, for birthdays and holidays.  I used an ATG gun and LOTS of ATG tape to hold the pages together.  I taped the January "month" page to the February scrapbook page, and so on, for each month.  Then I used a Cinch version 2 to bind everything together.  Above, is a pic of the whole calendar hanging in my daughter's office.  Below, are a few of the scrap pages I made for both the calendars.

Here's the January scrap page I made for son and DIL.  You'll notice some of the pages for the same months differ since son and daughter-in-law have more classic tastes (and loves birds, argyle, and paisley!) and daughter likes bright colors and lots of bling and glitter.  The cuts here were from Winter Frolic, Winter Lace, and Elegant Edges.

February's pages weren't anything spectacular...I was starting to run short on time!

This is Son and DIL's page.  I used the Miss Morgan line of paper from Quick Quotes, along with some cardstock from my stash.  DIL loves birds, so I tried to incorporate as many as possible!  I actually took this pic before the page was finished...later, I added some brads to keep the mats in place and a grommet and ribbon to pull out the journaling tag that's in the back of the pic mats.

Daughter loves pinks and purples, along with hearts and mushy stuff (haha!) so this page was for her.  I used cuts from the Sweethearts cartridge

Okay, enough for now...I don't want to burn you guys out right away!  More tomorrow!

PS...I'm entering my project in Jovan's New Year's Challenge!  Thanks Jovan!

Winner will be announced on January 7th.

What are you hoping to win?
A Smash Book and accessories!!

So, our theme for this blog hop is NEW.  I chose to depict the new year and the new month that's just around the corner.  I made calendars for both of my kids for Christmas this year.  My blog postings have been sparse, because I didn't want to show pics of what I had been working on before the kids opened their gifts. (I call them "kids" but they're 25 and 30 and they sometimes read my blog!)   So now, if you're interested, stop back my my blog for the new few days (or weeks!) and I'll post the pics a few at a time.

Here's the page I did on my daughters calendar for January 2012:

I used three different Cricut cartridges.

I used the snowman (minus the pipe) from Winter Frolic.  I think he came out super cute with his Peachy Keen eyes!

I also used the Phrase from the same page.

Of course the adorable little girl (made to resemble my daughter on her first snowboarding fiasco...I mean, trip) is from Everyday Paper Dolls.  The snowflakes were cut from Winter Lace, with lots of Stickles and bling thrown in for good measure!

I hope you liked the beginning of my project!  I'll explain more in future posts about the calendar and how it was made.

So now....the magic word you're looking for on this hop stop is "YOUR"  Have fun!

The next stop on our hop is the talented and adorable Miss Amanda.  Here's your entire lineup in case you get misplaced (you're in blogland so you can never get lost, right?!?!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a FABULOUS 2012!!!!!

Quick Note:

I'm supposed to be participating in Natasha's blog hop tomorrow morning and fully intend to. Mother Nature may not agree though. We have massive winds and rain right now, and the power is flickering! We live in the woods, so wind usually means a power outage, and thus, no internet. I wanted you guys to know just in case you hop here and see nothing :( Otherwise, see ya in the hop tomorrow morning!!

I just got an email from Glue Arts  telling me about an awesome holiday sale they're having going til January 1st.  Most of their stuff is on sale for 50% off plus FREE shipping!!!

I won an assortment of adhesives and an assortment of vinyl from them a while back, and am absolutely in love with their products now.  I've had really great results with everything I've tried from them.  (Wow...I sound like a commercial!  But this isn't one...I just love their stuff and they're having a great sale!!)

On another note....sorry for the crickets chirping around the blog lately.  I'm in my last minute push to get some presents made in time for Christmas.  Two projects (that I've been working on for over two months now!) have taken MUCH longer to finish than I anticipated.  Plus, since they're Christmas gifts, I don't want to post pics of them yet for fear of their recipients seeing them early!  On the positive side, I'm going to have TONS of stuff to show you guys after Christmas!!!!

New Enabler Alert!

Oh no!!  Another new place to buy supplies CHEAP?  My poor wallet!   I found Blitsy on a friend's blog, and I'm hooked...yikes!  Blitsy is a new online store that concentrates (for now) on scrapbooking supplies.  Each sale item is only offered for 7 days, and they have new sales items every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  I just ordered a rainbow of Stickles (I only had a few colors) for only $1.49 a bottle!  Even when you figure in shipping, it's still cheaper than I'm able to find anywhere else.

Right now, they also have some Tim Holtz product, (including his Christmas line of Distress Inks) a Scotch ATG gun for $19.99, Ranger Liquid Pearls for $1.69 a bottle, Punches, Page kits, and lots more!  Plus, right now, you can use the coupon code FACEBOOK on your first order and get an additional 10% off your entire order!  So that actually brought my Stickles down to $1.34 a bottle!

Another great perk, is that they offer store credit for referrals when a new member purchases for the first time!  So if you guys use my link when you sign up, then I will get a $10 store credit the first time you purchase.  Then you post on your blog with your own referral link, and the people who sign up with your link will earn YOU a $10 credit when they purchase!  How cool is that?  I'm not sure if that will be a forever thing, so I would do it now!

Here's where you sign up... Blitsy .  Let me know what great deals you find!!!!
