I’m In Love With Little Humphrey!

Happy Saturday!!  I’ve been playing in my craft room again, and having a little miniature love affair with the Humphrey line of stamps at Crafter’s Companion.  This gorgeous little girl is from their Just For You stamp set.  She’s a sweet little doll and I’ve had so much fun coloring her!  Thanks, AJ!!!
So, I hear all over the blogosphere that we don’t ever make mistakes in paper crafting, we just have happy accidents!  Well, I had a big happy accident with this card!  I had completely finished coloring her…couldn’t leave well enough alone, and was adding some extra stuff.  I ended up smearing black ink all over her and the white background paper that she was stamped on.  Ugh…faceplant.  I was able to get the ink off of her, but not off the background paper…so time to do some serious fussy cutting (I won’t use the word hate, but…well…yes I will.  I HATE fussy cutting!!!)  I really liked her on the white background, but when I put the cut out pic on the white again, it wasn’t great.  So here’s what I decided to do instead:
I used white cardstock and a pale pink organza ribbon to basket weave a background!  I wish it would show up a little better on the photograph.  I know it would have if I had weaved together two different colors of ribbon, but I didn’t want to distract from the cute little girl.  So, I popped her up on her new background, used a Martha Stewart punch for the grey portion of the background, and there you have it!
She is my third and final entry for the Crafter’s Companion Challenge Blog.  Go check them out…they have a GREAT prize this month!!

Where's WOYWW? #154

Happy Wednesday WOYWWers!!!!  Welcome to my mess creative space and welcome to edition #154 of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  As usual, there's very little room to work, but lots of fun going on.  I was playing with making my own little raindrop/faux crystal looking embellishments out of hot glue and alcohol inks.  The ones that are shaped right came out kind of cool.  I want to get a few more colors of ink and play a little more!

I was playing around with watercolor pencils earlier today.  I'm starting to get a little more comfortable with them.  I'm coloring this little cutie to go on a card for a challenge.

Don't forget to look for the WOYWW badge/button...I went easy on you guys this week!!!

Have a GREAT DAY!!!!

Hiding In My Craft Room Again!

Here's my entry for another Hiding In My Craft Room challenge.   More Holiday Catch Up!!  This layout is done with Christmas pics from 2008...I'm only four years behind on this one...woohoo!!

My hubby and kids were being weenies, as usual!  That's Christmas morning in the E. household!!

It's Christmas Already???

It felt like it when I was making these layouts!  One of the things we worked on at the awesome NSD crop I was at last Saturday, was a couple of Christmas layouts!!  Fun fun!!  I haven't scrapped Christmas pics in years, so this was pretty cool!!  You can tell how far behind I am if you peek at the year by the gingerbread house...Christmas of 2005 *blush*

Once again, I'm entering these in Hiding In My Craft Room's  Holiday Catch Up Challenge.    I may not have caught up all the way, but at least I made a little dent in it!!  Woot!

Challenging Challenge!

Okay, this was a tough one!  Hiding In My Craftroom (I love that name!) had an NSD Challenge going on to make a layout or project "All About Me."  That was hard!!!!  I started with a few pics, but quickly realized I wouldn't be able to squeeze them in with all the other things I wanted to say about me.  I'm a musician.. vocals and guitar, I'm a bit of a hippie, I'm all about peace, love happiness...and all that jazz!  That was so much to try to fit into a layout...but here is my try.  I hope you like it!!

Now go hug a tree!

Crappy picture of me in my craftroom?  CHECK!

You'll probably never see this again, but I want to win a Cricut Expression soooo bad, that I'm going to enter this pic on the Cricut Blog for their NSD contest!!  Woohoo!

They want to see a picture of you creating in your craft space.  I was actually in the middle of a LO (post coming soon) and had to get up and try to find just the right embellishment!  Hubby surprised me by snapping a picture!!

Thanks for close your eyes!

Life Is A Bowl Full Of Cherries

I think that used to be an old saying?  Well anyway, it's what I was thinking of when I made this card!  Look at all the glittery goodness!!  This is a technique using certain products from ECraft Designs.  You can find tutorials on their blog or by searching Elizabeth Craft Designs on Facebook.  This card is basically made up of a special kind of glitter that you can color on with markers!!!  They sell the glitter and the very cool stickers that you can stick on the glitter and then color in.  This is one of the coolest techniques I've seen in a long time!!

Here's a little peek at the inside of the card!

And of course, the whole thing wouldn't have come together nearly as smoothly if I didn't have my Glue Arts  Adhesive Squares on hand!  And they're on sale right now too!!!  WOOHOO!  I just bought like 8 more packs of them!  They're really becoming my go-to adhesive since they seem to stick just about anything to just about anything!  Click HERE to see another cool project I did using Glue Arts Adhesive Squares to stick chalkboard paper to my wall to make an awesome calendar!

Where's WOYWW # 153

Happy Wednesday world!!!!  (or Tuesday night here in the US!)  Welcome to edition # 153 of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!!!  It's our weekly peek at desks and crafty goodness the world over.

Shown above and below, is the fallout and utter chaos that was leftover from all the challenges I entered during National Scrapbooking Day on Saturday.  There's still a few challenges going, so I'm still working, and haven't taken the time in between projects to stop and straighten up!

You can see toward the end of the desk that there's just the smallest space to work in...pretty pathetic considering how long my desk is!!

Don't forgot to try looking for the WOYWW badge/button somewhere on the desk!!  I made it relatively easy this week since there's so much to look "through!"

I was a very bad monkey last week and wasn't able to visit many of you...I promise to be better about that this week.  Thank you for all your sweet, kind, wonderful, and encouraging guys are AWESOME!!!!!

Challenges, Challenges, Everywhere!

Okay...I'm on the ball today!  Three posts?!?!  I think this might just be a record for me!

I made this cute little guy for some more challenges tonight.  I used the Crafter's Companion stamp, Burt & Anthony - Let A Smile Be Your Umbrella on Kraft paper instead of white paper.  It was really different coloring on it, but I LOVE the way it came out!!  I covered the raindrops and umbrella with glossy accents to make it look wet (it looks awesome in person!)  A few buttons tied in twine, and some flowery lace complete the card.  I hope you like it!!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Pumpkin Spice - A card using something blue, something round, and at least three layers.

Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog - May challenge, use flowers.

Crafty Steals - A project using something Kraft.

Have a spiffy night!!!!

More Challenges!

Wow!!!  It's only the 6th day of the month and I already have a card done and posted for the Crafter's Companion Challenge that's not due til the end of the month!!!!  Ah-mazing!!!

I made this card with the Strawberry Kisses Friends Stamp (the same stamp I used for last month's challenge...I really need to get some new stamps!  Haha!)  The flowers are three different cuts from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and the butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch, both of which my friend AJ let me use while she was here playing the other day!!  I used Thistle Stickles on the butterflies and flowers, and the sentiment is from the set, Insightful Meadows from Unity Stamp Company.

I layered the butterflies and bent them a little for dimension.  I like it!!

I hope you do too!!!

I am also entering this card in:

Pumpkin Spice Blog's NSD challenge - Any project with green, a square, and at least one die cut.

The Paper Variety - May challenge, a paper project with handmade flowers.

Crafty Steals - Use at least one scrap.  (I used all scraps!!)

Oozak - May challenge, spring colors.

National Scrapbooking Day FUN!!

I hope you all had a blast yesterday for National Scrapbooking Day!!  I had so much fun!  I didn't get all the challenges accomplished that I wanted, but I noticed a lot of them don't have cut off dates for a few more days, so I'm hopeful I'll get some of them done!!

But...I did get to go to a crop with some great buddies, and we had SO MUCH FUN!!!  Me and AJ went to the funnest crop ever!   Thanks to Becky from Buzzy Bee Designs for hosting such a great party!  She served us dinner, and mango margaritas...YUM!!  I had WAY too many of them, but they were virgin drinks, so I could have all I wanted!  She also made a page kit and two card kits for us.  We learned some new techniques, and I took way too long (as usual!) on my projects!  We also got goodie bags!  Have I told you that I LOVE goodie bags?!?  There were stamps and stickers and all kinds of goodness in them...and I even got the tiniest roll of tape I've ever seen in my life! Here's a pic of it up against a normal size roll of tape...

It's a little bigger than my thumbnail!  Sorry I'm getting obsessed, but it's so cute!!!

Anyway, I will leave you with a few photos of the fun and festivities!  Have a great rest-of-the-weekend!

My nametag/placesetting on my margarita glass!
Goodie bags!!!
Creative goodness
AJ and Debbie having WAY too much fun!!
Becky and I had a turn with the sombrero too!

I SWEAR, there was no tequilla in those margaritas!

Where's WOYWW #152

If you're looking for the Swagbucks post to earn free stuff (even in the U.K.) click HERE!

Happy Wednesday Bloggers!!!  Welcome to edition #152 of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!  I've been working on some cards the last few days for a few challenges.  I'm NOT a cardmaker...I'm definitely more of a scrapbooker, but I've been having fun learning how to color with watercolor pencils!  I'm getting faster!

Don't forget to click on the picture of my desk to make it bigger, so you can try to find the hidden WOYWW badge/button!!!

Have a GREAT day!
