About 20-ish years ago, a phenomenon occurred that none of us older folk could ever have imagined. People started meeting and making friends, acquaintances, and even romantic interests online through some strange beast known as the World Wide Web. The dynamic was something COMPLETELY different than anything we had ever known, because you got to "know" another person without ever meeting them face to face. No personal biases or chemistry to overcome, just really being able to learn about who that other person is. This was a breakthrough, especially for shy or quiet people who might not be able to open up to allow another person to get to know the real them. Frankly, it was ground breaking for so many people.
Today, meeting people online is just a normal part of every day life and socialization. It's one thing I love and still am in awe over, when it comes to blogging. I have made so many crafty bloggie friends who are part of my every day life, whom I've never even met in person. One of those people is Susie from Susie Craft Happy. Susie and I started emailing back and forth a while ago, and I immediately recognized a kindred spirit, if for no other reason than that woman can talk just as much as me!!! WOW! Ha ha! Actually, there were lots of other reasons too ;) She's a truly talented artist with an amazing story who was featured on the Saturday Spotlight last month. But even beyond that, she's a truly deep-down-in-her-soul NICE person. How many people like that can you say you know? Our emails back and forth are funny, poignant, heartfelt, and brutally honest. And I may or may not have even been drunk emailing her one night...I'll never tell!
So, this afternoon, I walk out to my mailbox, and was greeted with a package from Susie...not because I won anything, not because she owed me anything, but because she's just sweet...plain and simple.
She sent me two D size Close To My Heart stamp sets that coordinate with their new Artiste Cricut cartridge, (and no, shes not even a CTMH consultant) another cute "handmade by" stamp, a Joann's gift card, and the sweetest handmade card ever! How incredibly cool is that???
I like the World Wide Web. I like blogging. I like bloggie friends. And I like Susie. Thank you Susie. Your kindness and generosity knows no bounds. It's an absolute privilege knowing you.
