Have You Heard of Blitsy Yet? (And A WINNER!!)

So, have you heard of Blitsy yet?  I know lots of you have, but I bet there's a few of you out there that haven't!  Blitsy is a fun online store that has sales on all kinds of cool things for ONE WEEK ONLY!  You can find some great deals!  Click HERE to sign up and then go check things out.

This week, they have these on sale for only $2.99 each...

...and these on sale for $2.75 (hurry, these are going really fast, and when they're gone, they're gone)

Right now, they also have Petaloo Flowers,  Tim Holtz Alterations Bigz Dies, Ranger Adirondack Paint Dabbers, Scor-Pal products, and all kinds of other fun things.  They add new items every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and you can sign up for email alerts with the new items for sale when they hit the site!  Once again, check it out here!  You'll be so happy you did!!

Now, on to what you REALLY came here for!!  Thanks so much to all of you for stopping by our Sticking Around blog hop this past Saturday!  To answer a question that came up several times, the cool idea for the hop wasn't mine (although I really wish it was!!)  It was the brainchild of Cissy from The Cissy and Fran Show.  I wanted to say a sincere thank you to all of you who really spent some time looking around on my blog.  It was very sweet of you to take the time and leave such encouraging comments.  A big thank you to Cissy for inviting me too!!

So the randomly seleted winner of my blog candy is Kristan from Babycakes !  YAY Kristan!!!!!!!!!!  Get ahold of me!!!

I plan on going to visit all of you tomorrow, who came to see me during the blog hop.  Once again, thank you thank you.  YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!

...And Another Challenge!

Card #2!!
My second Mother's Day card is made from Crafter's Companion's Anthony & Burt Collection. The name of the stamp is Let a Smile Be Your Umbrella. SOOOOO cute! I covered each of the raindrops in Glossy Accents. I wish it showed up in the pic...super cute!!!

I hope you liked both cards!  Thanks for peeking!

Time For A Challenge!

Hey blog peeps!!  Happy Monday!  I'm actually entering a challenge ON TIME!!  Woohoo!  I made cards to enter the Crafter's Companion Challenge last month, and then didn't get the post written and done in time.  Tonight, I have 25 minutes left until the link closes...can you say procrastinate?!?!   And guess what?   I made not one, but two cards!  The theme is Mother's Day.  The first one was made with their super cute Strawberry Kisses, Friends Stamp.  I just fell in love with these little babies!  The flowers were cut from my friend AJ's Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I'm soooo jealous!  What an awesome cartridge!!

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Stamps Challenge #63 - For Mom

My Craft Spot Challenge #54 - Mothers's Day

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #50 - Mother's Day or anything "girly"

Hiding In My Craftroom #44 - Let's Honor Mothers

Sticking Around Blog Hop (With Blog Candy!!)

Hey scrapper friends!!!  Welcome to the Sticking Around Blog Hop!!  This is a super-cool concept for a different kind of hop. We're keeping it small...only five blogs total, so that you can spend a little time at each one.  Here's the idea:  Most of today's participants are newer bloggers with young blogs. Instead of each of us posting a specific themed project, we will simply ask you to come and take a look around our blogs, peek into a few posts, find your favorite, and leave a comment letting us know which post you liked and why. Any helpful words of wisdom on these new blogger's journeys would be just AWESOME too! Even though I've been doing my blog for almost a year, I would still love to know what you love, what you hate (be gentle!) and what you would like to see out of me.

So please, go take a look around my blog, and then come back to this post and let me know what your favorite post or idea was that you found.  One of my commenting followers will win the prize package shown above.  It includes a 7 Gypsies 6x6 paper pack, 4 yards of really cute ribbon, a roll of my favorite Smash washi tape, a Cuttlebug die, and some sapphire blue bling!  I only ask that you have a US or Canadian mailing address, since the US Post Office doesn't seem to believe in cheap postage rates to other parts of the world!

I'll count all comments made through midnight (Pacific time) Sunday night April 29th.  Only one comment per follower will count, so you don't need to leave lots of different ones!!

You're at the start of our hop now.  From here, the rest of your journey includes:

Cissy and Fran - http://cissyandfranshow.blogspot.com
Corrinne - http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.com
Lisa - http://scrappydistractions.blogspot.com
Rebekah - http://tanglestreasures.blogspot.com/

Please enjoy their blogs and consider becoming a follower so you can partake in their creativity, wisdom, and their blog candy!!!

Have a FABULOUS weekend!!!
Amy E.

Get FREE Crafty Goodies!!!

Welcome!!! I haven't posted this in a while, so I thought it was worth another run!

One of the ways I have been able to get my hands on cheap or FREE scrapbooking goodies, is through a cool little search engine called SWAGBUCKS. The Swagbucks search engine is a staple in the couponing world. You do searches on swagbucks (either their page or a handy little toolbar you can install, which I highly recommend) that basically uses Google search. Now, I really don't do a lot of searches, but I have gotten into the habit of typing in whatever site I need to go to, like Hotmail or Facebook. While doing searches, you are randomly awarded swackbucks...a form of currency you can exchange for all kinds of prizes. I always use my swagbucks to purchase Amazon gift cards. 450 swagbucks will get you a $5 card to spend at Amazon.com. Not much you say? Well, here's a few things (only a fraction of the things actually!) I got with mine over the past couple of years...

Edit: Since the first time I posted this, I have saved up enough Swagbucks to get these:

And a second blue Smash Book (I gave the first one away) with a few accessories (and numerous Christmas gifts!):

Save The Date!

There's a REALLY COOL blog hop I'm participating in tomorrow called, "Sticking Around!"  It's a little different than I've seen before.  Most of the participants are newer bloggers with young blogs. Even though I've been doing my blog for almost a year, I would still love to know what you love, what you hate (be gentle!) and what you would like to see out of me (YES Kristan, I PROMISE to make a Cricut vinyl video soon!  Haha!!)

Anyway, starting tomorrow (4/28) at 7am CST (holy cow, that's 5am my time!!) you can visit, peek, follow (thus the "sticking around" title!!) and  comment, and try to win some cool prizes!  And I'll give you a hint....Cissy's blog will be giving away a prize package that's worth $150!!!!  WOOHOO!

See you bright and early tomorrow morning!!!!

Where's WOYWW #151

Happy Wednesday!!  Welcome to another edition of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  This is week #151.  Do you realize that's almost 3 years that Julia has been hosting this blogger's tradition?  SO cool!!

My friend, AJ from AJ Scrapbooking and Cards and I, spent a FABULOUS Saturday crafting together last weekend.  We temporarily traded a few Cricut cartridges, so I've been busy making lots of cuts on the borrowed cartridges.  Thus, the mess on my desk this week!!!  I have lots of gluing to do now!

For those of you who visited last week and were intrigued by what was hidden on my desk under the towel, you can go take a peek right HERE!

Can you find the WOYWW badge this week?  It's getting a little harder each time!!

What's Under The Towel???

If you were here yesterday for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, you may have noticed a mysterious covered lump on my desk.  Well, I promised to show you what it is...so now that it's finished, here ya go!

I found the COOLEST idea over at Infarrantly Creative.  It's for a planner you can make yourself, but it's tailored around being a blogger!  Beckie over at I.C. has a short video that shows you how it works.  If these pics I'm about to post don't make sense, I highly recommend you go spend a couple of minutes watching her video.  She also offers free printables for the pages!!

So, the purple loving hippie in me came out when I chose my paper for the cover!!!  I recycled an old post office box for the cover and used my Cinch to bind the whole thing together.

When you open up the first part of the book, you have a generic monthly calendar on one side of the book, and a weekly calendar on the other side.  The weekly calendar pages give you room to sketch and doodle, and there's room to write out all of the challenges, blog hops, and projects you need to do or post for that week.  There's also a small box at the bottom for you to keep track of your weekly statistics, and a spot to remind you to encourage other bloggers.  I LOVE IT!

Then, on the monthly calendar side, you can continue to open it up!!

Until it finally looks like this all opened up...

That's so that you can turn your weekly pages each week when you're done with one, and ready for a fresh page and week.

Then you can keep the weekly pages in case you need to go back to reference something.  The flap with the monthly calendar, then flips closed, and you're ready with fresh sheets.

For the monthly calendar pages, I made them into a "tear-off paper pad" by stacking them together and putting rubber cement on the top edges of the pages.  That way you can tear off each month when you're done with it and discard it.

A thin piece of ribbon was attached on one side and velcro on the other, to hold the monthly sheets in place when the book is being opened and closed.  Simply undo the velcro ribbon to tear off your monthly sheet when you're done with it.

I added a few extras to finish it off.  A pen holder...

...and a pocket on the inside to hold cards I will need to send out for that month.  (the pocket was an already made Smashbook pocket...I just liked the way it looked!

Here's a close-up of the artwork on the front.  I chose to keep it super simple since the paper was so busy.  The font was from the Paper Lace Cricut cartridge, welded together with my Gypsy, and the black background was a tag from the Phrases Cricut cartridge (and I remember that because I wrote it down in my planner!!

I hope you like my new planner (because I LOVE IT!!) and I hope it was worth the wait!!  Thanks for checking it out!!

Hugs,
Amy E.

Where's WOYWW #150!!

Happy Wednesday!!!  (or Tuesday night here in the US...)  And welcome to another installment of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Today, my desk has a big blob right in the middle!  Why, you may ask?  Because I have a project I've been working on the past two days but it's not quite finished.  I'm REALLY happy with how it's turning out though!  I plan on finishing it tonight and then posting about it tomorrow, so if you're really curious, you'll have to come back tomorrow to take a peek.  I'll just give you one hint...it's something that I, as a blogger, will use almost daily!

Other than that, the old desk is looking pretty spiffy.  I actually cleaned the other day, and it's stayed relatively neat!  Woohoo!

Can you spot the WOYWW badge/button?    This is the last week I'm going to make it easy for you!  Haha!  HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

Time to Update My Blog!

                                                                                                                                  Google Photo Credit

Hi peeps!  Yes, I've been a bad blogger lately...and you know what?  I've been an even worse crafter!!  Thus, the reason for the picture above!  I have NOTHING good and crafty to show you!  I've been up to lots of stuff and working on changing around some of the content of this blog...bringing it back to how to save money on crafty things, and tips we can all use, and fun stuff like that.  New things to post soon!

I've also been in my craft room but working more on reorganizing my stash and trying to find places for new and different things.  The look of my craft room I showed everyone on this post last September has changed quite a bit.  I mean everything is still the same, but the room got FULL really fast!!  So now it's not all the clean lines and sparse decor...it's a scrap room crammed full of goodness, but with so much stuff  that has found it's permanent home on the desk, I have to move things around to craft...and that's really quite pathetic when you realize I have a 14 foot desk!!  *blush*  Anyway, as soon as I'm happy with the way it looks (i.e., not junky!) I promise to post pics.  Heck, I might even post a video!!

In other crafty news...I've been trying to meet up with AJ from AJ Scrapbooking & Cards for the past few months, ever since I learned that her and her family were moving cross-country, right into the town next to mine!!  How cool is that?!?  We FINALLY got to meet up at a crop the other night and had a blast!  She is SUCH an AWESOME lady!  I just love meeting blogland friends in real life!  And we already have plans to do it again!

Okay...I'll go craft something if you do too!  Let's get to it!  Wait...it's like 1am here...I'll get to it tomorrow!!  Nighty night!

Where's WOYWW???

Hi peeps!!!  <---sorry, I must still be in Easter mode!  Happy What's on your Workdesk Wednesday!  (even though it's still Tuesday in the US!)

I was thinking of doing something a little different this week!  The sweet and generous Julia over at Stamping Ground sent me a WOYWW button/badge a few weeks ago!  It was SO COOL getting mail form the UK!!!  The button is awesome and I plan on wearing it to a crop on Thursday.  In the mean time, it's mixed in with the mess on my desk!  So, do you remember the game, WHERE'S WALDO?  Well, why don't we play Where's WOYWW!!  Can you find the button in the crafty mess?  It's pretty out in the open, but maybe next week I'll hide it a little more!!

My poor desk hasn't seen a lot of use lately.  My good crafting chair broke, so I've been sitting in a different that's just playing havoc on my back and neck.  I got a new chair last night though, so back to crafting it is!  I have lots of Smash stuff sitting out and ready to go, since that seems to be my new addiction of late.  I also have an Easter egg I filled for a swap coming up on Thursday.  I can't wait to see what I get!!  And I really hope my secret partner loves hers!!!!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY ALL!!!!
