Happy Wednesday and happy day after New Year's! I am about to let you in on my dirty little secret. I consider myself a card maker, but this year, I did not send out one single Christmas card...NOT ONE. Well, I take that back sort of. I did send one to my bestie that I made a few months ago, because I had to send her something else, so it was easy to include. Other than that, not a single card. I had a whole year to make them, but I procrastinated, and never did a thing.
So, this year, I'm turning a new leaf and starting a new weekly feature to keep me accountable. I'm planning to make at least one Christmas/Holiday card with an envelope, each week of the year. Of course my goal is to have all my cards made by the first of December, so that I will have absolutely no excuse not to stamp them and send those puppies out. I will post a new card each Wednesday, and I would love to have you join me if you would like to! If there's enough interest, I may even look into putting up a linky each week. We'll see how that pans out.
Now, although I'm sure you're completely sick of Christmas music by now, I thought I should add a little something to get you in the mood. Although, this is probably my least favorite Christmas song of all-time, these guys make it hilarious and awesome! Have a listen...
And while you're laughing/marveling at that, here's my very first Christmas card of the year...
I made this little cutie using Basic Grey's Snowman stamp, clear embossing powder, and some Tim Holtz Distress inks using a resist technique. The footless brads are from Imaginesce and the snowflake ribbon is from my stash.
I'm so proud...one card down, about 50 to go! Let me know if you decide to join in. I would love to see your cards too, and we can hold each other accountable!
Happy Scrapping! ~Amy E
