Time for another Scrapbook Challenge over at MFP Speedy TV...YAY! This week, we're doing Anything Goes! I love it when we have weeks where we can do anything. It gives me a chance to get caught up on my scrapbooking without having to fit my photos into a particular theme. I have a stack of finished pages just waiting to be placed in books now!
Remember this challenge is strictly scrapbook layouts, no cards please. You have to use stamps on your pages. They don't have to be Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stamps but if you do use them you will be entered twice for a chance to win. And here's the super-cute stamp you could possibly win this week!
Back in 2007, hubby, the kids, and I all took a ride on the ferry over to Seattle for the very last Seattle Supersonics home game ever. They moved to Oklahoma after that season. We had some time before the game and walked around the city, and just explored. We had a great time and found some fun fountains and water features we had never seen before. We made a day of it.
We ended up asking a stranger on the street to take a pic of us. Sadly, it's one of the few family photos of all of us together. We need to work on that the next time we're all together again!
Since there were fountains in the background of all these photos, I thought it would be the perfect time to use the water lily and koi images from Mark's Finest paper's new stamp set, Koi Fish.
I decided to do a watermarked background again. It's accomplished by using Versa Mark ink on a solid colored piece of cardstock. It seems to show up better when a darker color of paper is used. It leaves a distinct mark which gives you a very subtle but beautiful patterned background page.
I also used two sentiments from the same stamp set. I used the phrase, "find peace" on one page...
...and I stamped the word "Love" three times on the other page, right beneath a sticker that says, "family." I thought that was the perfect place for the sentiment!
For everything else: I used a partial page kit I got at a garage sale last month from my sweet friend Becky. There were all different colors and patterns of paper in the kit, so I cut all different sizes and made a strip and several banners for each page. One of the patterns looks just like elementary school paper, so I decided to position that for my journaling, which I'll do in the future. Beyond that, I added some embellishments that came with the kit, and some Candi, that I color-coordinated with the pages,
I hope you'll whip out a page and consider joining us this week! Just think, if you enter one layout each week (even though you can enter more than one) you'll be caught up on your scrapbooking in no time! Or, if you're like me, you have so much to catch up on that it'll barely make a dent! Haha! But you know what? At least I'm getting pages done, so that's a HUGE plus for me! Woohoo! You have until next Wednesday at 8 pm EST to ink up with us. See you there!
Happy Scrapping! ~Amy E
