Ahhh...my family. As crazy as they are, I just love them to pieces! I made a scrapbook layout that will be sister pages to a double layout I made last month about a day trip we took to Seattle a few years back. I just love scrapbooking my family. It's like my love letter to them.
Please consider joining us this week over at the Scrapbook Challenge on MFP Speedy TV Remember this challenge is strictly scrapbook layouts, no cards please. You have to use stamps on your pages. They don't have to be Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stamps but if you do use them you will be entered twice for a chance to win.
The challenge this week is to use at least three different patterned papers on your layout. You can even use your stamps to make patterned paper if you would like to!
I used the rest of a page kit I bought at a garage sale this summer. There were enough scraps left to get two good pages. Maybe I can still squeeze a card or two out of it as well! The nice part about the kit is that there were some coordinating patterns left to play with. I threw in a few of my own too.
I tried to do a few different things with this layout. I weaved some of the paper strips and the tape measure (see above) to give a little extra texture and visual interest. I also fussy-cut some of the circles from some of the patterned papers, and inked the edges with Quick Quotes Chalking Inks to give some definition.
I decided to use one of my new favorite stamp sets, Mark's Finest Paper's Huge Blooms set. I used this set on a card a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. I like really big stamps! This time, I stamped it on some textured cardstock to give a little extra dimension. I used some watercolor pencils to do some shading, although the paper didn't take too kindly to it! All in all though, I like the result!
Happy Scrapping! ~Amy E
