A Call For Help!

Okay scrapbookers, I am in desperate need of your help!  I have a huge stack of completed scrapbook pages sitting on my desk needing to find their homes.  Since I was doing the Mark's Finest Papers Scrapbook Challenge for almost a year, and doing  two-page layouts almost every week, I have a massive amount of completed pages.  Luckily, I have a massive amount of scrapbooks as well.  However, most of them are empty.

So here's where I'm asking for your help… I would love to know how you organize your pages in your books.  Do you put them all in chronologically?  Do you make a separate book for each child?  Do you have a special book just for Christmas or other occasions?

I think I am running into trouble because I did all sorts of layouts from different time periods and about different subjects.  I have pages of Christmases from the past few years, and I have pages of my children's first birthdays 30+ years ago.  I have pages with one child, and pages with the whole family.  I have pages with different events such as Relay For Life, and pages involving our day-to-day life about nothing in particular.

How do you organize your scrapbooks?  Please help?!?

Happy Scrapping! ~Amy E

Hi Amy
I have three grandsons and each have their own scrap book. I use another scrap book for family history and another for family events. Each Christmas I do a mini book .
I hope this helps

I usually go in chronological order...BUT I do have a separate school based book for my daughter and for vacation-usually one album for each one as I scrap every little thing. I just made a friends a holiday scrapbook (she is not a scrapper but take photos so the pages are blank but cover a whole year of holiday NEw Years - Christmas as the end) Here is the thing to remember- whatever you do is right and in the future if you change your mind you can move your pages around..Love that you got 2 layouts done each week...AWESOME

I laughed when I read your post because I have no organization to my scrapbooking what ever. I just stick them in the book as I do them. I do date the page with the date I scrapbooked it as well as the date of the actual pictures. Just get them in books where you can enjoy them!

Hi Amy,

I organize mine chronologically, that's how I've been doing them for the past 11+ years. I only have one child and the albums revolve around his life, although there is also our family things we do together in there like vacations, holidays, etc. Hope this helps. Good luck:)

Hey, there! Here's a post I wrote about how I use Photo Freedom by Stacy Julian to organize and store my photos and pages. Have a great day!

Hey Amy!! I think that we all struggle with this problem. What I have done, is that each of my 3 kids have their own album for the first year, and that was not easy because the 2nd and 3rd kids really don't get their "own" album, because although you get pictures with only that child s in the hospital, and at night when the others were in bed, it is very hard to get pictures of the 2nd and 3rd kids, alone without the older sibling getting in the pictures. So like I said the 3 kids each get their own album, and after a year, I started the Family album, and then I have a separate album for Christmas album, getting the tree ect. and some of those pictures are duplicate pics from each of the kids first year album. Hope this wasn't to confusing!! good Luck, Karen♥

Hi Adena! Thanks for your help! I will TOTALLY be making a special scrapbook for my grandson (and any other grandbabies that may come along later!!!) I LOVE the idea of a mini album for each Christmas. Now I just need to remember to take enough photos each year! Haha!!

Hi Maria! I love the idea you and some others have of just doing things chronologically. I think eventually , it would have to default to that way anyway. And then at least it would be relatively simple to figure out where to go to find a certain page. Thank you for your help!
