Yellow and Grey Color Challenge

Happy second day of 2014.  If you had a hangover, I hope it's long gone!  Haha!  I barely even stayed awake til midnight on new year's eve.  Getting old is kind of a pain!

Since it's Thursday, it's time for the next Color Challenge over at MFP Speedy TV.  This week our colors to work with are Yellow and Grey.

About a year ago, I made some page kits from stash in my craft room.  I matched papers and cardstock, and added in all kinds of different embellishments.  I knew I was about to become a Grandma, and my son and DIL had decorated their nursery in yellow and grey.  I always thought the layout colors would be perfect to put some photos of my adorable little guy in.  My layout today was actually made from one of those kits. Now I just need to get the pics I want to use on the pages, developed!

I've just about used up all the kits I made, so I think it's time to sit down and make some more.  They were AWESOME! It was so nice to just grab a kit and get to work...not to mention how easy it was to just grab a kit and go to a crop...no planning needed!

Since my kit included the majority of elements I used, I didn't have to add a whole lot more to it.  I decided to ink all my edges with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Antique Linen.  It defined all the pieces and mats so much better, once I inked them.  I also used the same ink to tone down the bright white paper that the two quotes were printed on.

I used the Mark's Finest Paper's Family stamp set and Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the sentiment on my page.  I thought the one word just said it all!

Please join us for the Color Challenge this week.  And remember, you don't have to make a scrapbook layout if you don't want to...any card or project using yellow and grey will work, and you might even win a cute stamp!  You have until Next Wednesday at 5 pm PST to link up.  See you there!

Happy Scrapping! ~Amy E
